Not to be confused with a fetish, Bibliophilia is when someone collects, hordes, and adores literature. While some find comfort in alchole, opiums, and other addictions, Bibliophils relish books. They crave literium, they flock to sanctums like Barnes & Noble and Libraries. A true Bibliophil will choose a new book over food, or manuscript over a movie. I am a Bibliophil, I am addicted, nay obessed with the written word. I am currently building my own library, if ye would want to find me, thou need only look in the nearest book store. There everyone knows my name, they no longer ask if I'm a member at B&N. I confess that I tend to purchase three to four books a week. My mother dost try to dismay, to dissuade me from buying so many texts, she says I shall want the revenues for my trip.
How can I stop? The novels, histories, classics, philosophies, doctrines, and fairytales they call to me! My summer reading list tis quite ridiculous. I have over twenty titles I dost wish to read. Number one on my list is Recollections of Joan of Arc by Mark Twain. I would be perfectly happy living in tower full of books, there I could be content. However, being a socialite, I would need to fellowship with other Bibliophils. I could not stand the isolation for too long, it twould drive me quite mad. :D
I should be in that tower! I crave a good book! When I have finished one and do not have another on standby...I am ready to go mad!
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, I have one to read tonight!!! :D
You are right...so many words have been written, I would that I could read almost all of them!
I am also building my library, but alas, money dost keep me from getting as many I desire.
Perhaps one day I shall have one as large as my parent's we have huge bookshelves stuffed!
And my father has a large theological library that we don't even have room for so they must be stored outside.
Some of the best books I have been driven to read because I did not have a book and needed to read, so I went to our shelves and pulled one. And I ended up adoring it! ;)
Ah, forgive me for going on...this is a subject that I will speak of for hours!
We should start a book club called the Reading Tower! ;)
Blessings!!!

Reading Tower! I love it! It tis refreshing to meet another Bibliophil. As I said on TDL, Bibliophils don't just read to read, they read to breath. :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed! ;)
ReplyDeletePerhaps on DL I shall go make a reading tower...should I?
Certainly! We could even decide to read the same books. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Love the idea!!!
