The Source of Mental Illness

Nowadays whenever someone does something violent or cruel, if they cause harm and even death the experts claim “they were undiagnosed mentally ill.” Rather than say the truth that they are evil, wicked, and bad. Instead they get the pity of mental illness rather than ire pf their evil behavior. Before I carry on, I do think there is mental illness and people need care, I also think there are cases of demonic influence that causes mental illness too with so many people participating in the occult & demonic of tarot, psychics, ouija boards, horoscopes, Tai Chi, Yoga, and etc. In fact, twenty eight children collapsed in Colombia who used ouija boards  (https://q1043.iheart.com/content/2023-03-08-28-girls-hospitalized-after-fainting-while-playing-with-ouija-board/). The Spiritual, The Mental, and the Physical are all interconnected. The Vatican has said starting exorcisms are increasing, and they do not have enough exorcists for the demand. I believe many cases of undiagnosed mental illness is demonic possession, demonic oppression, and  demonic influence brought into people’s lives by playing with the kingdom of darkness’ rites and  things; you cannot play with magic and occult and expect to remain untouched by the demonic.

If the answer is not demonic, then it certainly is a chemical imbalance that requires treatment. For instance some people do not produce serotonin properly, they either get too much and then too little, which can exhibit bipolar symptoms. I do think we have the right to ask Christ to heal someone “they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover,” (Mark 16:18), “The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy,” (1 Corinthians 12:9-10),  “If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it,” (John 14:14), and “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. ..pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:14-16). I do not claim forgoing treatment, but why not go to God first? Ask for Him to heal you?

The greatest source of mental illness is a lack of faith in Christ. So many people are godless and they do not have Jesus to guard their minds, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 4:7). You can not guard your heart and mind apart from Christ, and so we are seeing an uptick in this world of mental illness as more and more people become Nones, and Atheists. Back in the 1940’s, when most people were Christian, we did not see protestors destroying businesses, or people shooting up schools. Back then people called such things evil and punished it, and note it was exceedingly rare for someone to be mentally ill or do an abominable act. Now in this Post Modern World school shootings are common, as are people being assailed by people in cars, terrorist attacks, protestors burning cars, and more. The further people run from God like Jonah, the more the storms rage (Jonah 1:1-4), when Jesus alone can calm the storm, “Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”” (Mark 4:38-40).

I believe you can trace a correlation that as Christianity is abandoned in nations the mental illness has risen. For how can you combat anxiety without casting it on Him, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7), how can you find peace without The Prince of Peace (Matthew 5:9)? We are told by the apostle anyone who does not believe in Christ is possessed of the devil, “You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He (the devil) is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” (Ephesians 2:2). Which goes back to the uptick in exorcisms, because people who are not Christians are hostages of Satan. Thus Mental Illness in my view is threefold: Because people do not believe in Jesus Christ they have no way to guard their minds (Philippians 4:7), for only God gives a sound mind, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Secondly that people who may even be Christian are playing with occult in horoscopes, soothsaying, tarot, and etc which opens them to kingdom of Darkness. Thirdly people really have chemical imbalances  like erratic serotonin levels, and even probably vitamin deficiencies like D and B12. Also brain injury or damage being a factor.

Mental illness is multi-faceted. The key is to eliminate the different causes. First put your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Son of God, so that you have The One who can guard your mind living in you! (1 John 4:15). Second do not play with occult, tarot, soothsaying/psychics/mediums, Satanic, divination, necromancy, new age, Buddhist meditation, Zenism, Yoga, Karma Sutra, and other magic, pagan, and demonic spiritualities that open you to unstable mind via double mindedness “Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do,” (James 1:8); when you serve The Kingdom of Heaven and play with kingdom of this present darkness you are double minded which causes mental illness because you cannot serve two masters, “No one is able to serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and he will love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon,” (Matthew 6:24), “Get out of here, Satan!” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him,” (Matthew 4:10), and “Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing.” (1 Kings 18:11).  Then if you are saved and have relationship with Jesus and have stopped Occult practices, you have eliminated those as causes of mental illness and can be sure its a brain issue that needs meds and treatment. Amen.

The Potrait of Jesus: What Christ Looked Like

What was Jesus’s appearance? Pseudo-historians at National Geographic and other publications argue that Jesus’ humanity was of Arab or African descent. This is impossible because Jesus our God was Son of David according to His flesh, “He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord (God),” (Romans 1:2-4), and King David was described as the following, “So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy [red, ruddy, from the word admowniy {ad-mo-nee'}; from 'adam ; reddish of the hair or the complexion red, ruddy], with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is he. So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came ...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Orthodox Christianity and Messianic Judaism

There is a divide between the two sides of Christianity. One is lined by a rosary, the other with tallit (prayer shawl). In the west we tend to come from a Greco-Roman understanding of The Bible and Jesus Christ. We are saturated with images of the Crucifixion and see through the red lens of Calvary. Now The Messianic or Jewish perspective is becoming more prevalent as people begin to study the roots of the Christian faith. After all, Jesus was a Jew and his Twelve Disciples were all Jews of different sects and positions in society. By studying the Jewish roots of Jesus we come to understand the ancient customs, practices, rites, and traditions that are featured in the Old and New Testaments. We learn in Jewish tradition that a Rabbi had to be ordained by two rabbis and that when Jesus was asked, "by who's authority do you say these things?, (Luke 20:2)" the Pharisees were asking who had ordained Jesus and where he got his yoke (teachings), and Jesus responds, "wh...
