One of the most lauded directors is Denis Villeneuve who is known for The Blade Runner sequel, The Arrival, and The Dune remakes. This director tends to do a realism approach, like Christopher Nolan. However, unlike Nolan he has a very specific agenda. Villeneuve is an antichrist. In Blade Runner 2049 the replicant creator looks like Jesus Christ from Jesus of Nazareth (1977), he quotes Bible verses as he tortures his creation and kills them. In The Arrival, Lovecraftian Cthulhu aliens arrive and are depicted as good and helpful when in the mythology of Cthulhu he is great grandson of the greatest evil. The arrival of these aliens has major reactions on earth, the news highlights Pentecostals committing mass suicide, no other religions but Christian are depicted as going nuts. In Dune Part I, the Bengesseret who are witches say their religion is The Way, which is what Christianity was called and Jesus said He was, “But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets,” (Acts 24:14), “And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray,” (Isaiah 35:8), and “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). Herbert’s Novel Dune does not contain the witches saying they are The Way nor do other adaptations, the fact Villeneuve made this change is telling; he is trying to taint The Way: Jesus and his followers. Additionally, Mau’Dib or Paul who is suppose to become a messiah of the desert planet Arrakas, instead in Villeneuve Part I of Dune Paul has a melt down and says his mother brain washes him with messiah syndrome, which the director is trying to get viewers to consider Jesus was brainwashed by Mary with a messiah complex. The truth is Jesus Christ is The Messiah, The Lord God, Son of God and Son of Man. His own family via Joseph and Mary, did call him crazy and He cut those unbelieving kin off, “One time Jesus entered a house, and the crowds began to gather again. Soon he and his disciples couldn’t even find time to eat. When Jesus’ family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. “He’s out of his mind,” they said. Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him. They stood outside and sent word for him to come out and talk with them. There was a crowd sitting around Jesus, and someone said, “Your mother and your brothers are outside asking for you.” Jesus replied, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he looked at those around him and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”” (Mark 3:20-21, 32-35). Villeneuve is like Jesus’ family, the sons and daughters of Joseph & Mary (Matthew 13:34-35) who try to discredit The Lord Jesus!
Villeneuve has an antichrist agenda as many do in Hollywood, he simply is bolder in his attacks on Christ and Christianity, calling evil things like Cthulhu and Dune Witches and making them associated good, and taking good things like Jesus’ appearance in Bladerunner 2049 and Paul the Mau’Dib and making them crazy and evil; this fulfills the prophet’s words, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter,” (Isaiah 5:20), and Jesus’ words, “But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!” (Matthew 6:23). How great is the darkness in Villeneuve, that his movies glorify darkness and demonize the light! Amen.
