The Constancy of Christ

We are told that Christ is always the same, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). In a world of perpetual change, our One Hope and God does not change. As social norms are eroding and people are compromising values for what is politically “expedient,” we hold fast to our Lord Jesus who remains the same, “You, Lord (Jesus, Philippians 2:4-11, Romans 10:9), in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
Like a cloak You will fold them up,
And they will be changed. But You are the same.” (Hebrews 1:10-12 NKJV).  The heavens will pass away in the fire of God’s Wrath (2 Peter 3:10-11) and this world too shall be remade (Revelation 21:1-4), but our God and Savior shall always be, He reigns from Age to age, “to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.” (Jude 1:25).

Christ is ever constant. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8). This world tries to exasperate people with the constant changes. It seems more than ever, every institution, social issue, store design, and etc is in a state of constant change. Restaurants and chain stores keeping changing logos at the rate that seeks to match the uncertainty in morals and ethics in the world.  As the climate of this world’s inferno burns with rage and outrage, Christ is always there unchanging and Almighty.  As the forces of this temporal world and this present darkness  wage war to confuse and conform people to pagan customs (Romans 1:1-27), even enlisting the Eastern religions, Jesus still reigns as Sovereign of the Universe and His return is imminent.

God the Trinity does not change, “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed,” (Malachi 3:6), “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17), and “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and for all ages.” (Hebrews 13:8). There is no variance in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, they do not bend to the times but are the timeless Triune God! That is why I believe the spirit of antichrist (1 John 4:3) is moving strong to persecute the church at this time. The world is falling into chaos on gender, sexual orientation, race, prejudices, pluralism, liberalism, communism, paganism, and more. Those who champion these causes war against Christ because He does not as God conform to the whims and flawed morality of man who can never be good, for only God is good (Mark 10:18); so God became a man, Jesus, and died on the cross to be good for us so that He takes our sins and we His righteousness, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him: For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:21  NKJV, NLT). Morality can only come from the Holy Trinity, and what He says is moral and true is contained in the Holy Bible. In those Scriptures the changeless God has written His Commands (Matthew 22:36-41, John 13:34-36, John 15:12-15), His Compassion (Romans 5:8-11), and His Coming Wrath (Revelation 19:11-21) to the wicked. All revelation is confined to 66 books of Old and New Testaments. Any further revelation and visions must conform and agree completely with the Scriptures (Holy Bible) which are changeless as Christ is changeless.

Christ is our constant in an age of change and chaos. We can depend on the Lord who is everlasting and eternal! He shall see us through all trials and tribulations. For the unseen is more real than the seen, “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

Our Lord Jesus Christ is constant. He is always with us even to the end, “Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20). Our God and Savior will never abandon us, but holds on to us tightly, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[a]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30). May we hold fast for our anchor Jesus Christ who is the same today and forever. Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

  Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
