The Problem of Professionals in the Church

The problem of professionals in the church is that when people make their spirituality, faith, and God their job they change the nature of it. Our faith in Christ is suppose to be relational, that God the Trinity decided that a ultimate sacrifice had to be made for our sins so that mankind and the Lord would no longer be separated both on earth and in eternity. This was solved when Jesus Christ died on cross for our sins and rose from dead. This restored the relationship with God, and now we believers (Christians) keep that relationship as our focus (following or faith walk or discipleship is what we call it). But when you make that relationship a profession or job, it changes its nature. It is like how different your relationship with your boss and your parents is, or spouse if you must use that comparison. With your family (healthy family) you aren't meeting quotas, and having to merit anything, you should be loved unconditionally no matter if you prevail or fail. But if y...

Medieval Church is the Modern Church

The Medieval Church has returned in the Modern Church. People are spectators again. Once they sat and listen to the mass and watched the priest preform the Eucharist, not participating, now Modern Churches have people barely participating, with them sitting as spectators and watching the pastors preach on a screen or in person. The Church is suppose to be active, all Christians who attend the meetings are suppose to participate, not idly watch and listen. A church service was suppose to look like this, " They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer ," (Acts 2:42), and " What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silen...

Jesus Threw Satan Out of Heaven

There is a very common image in Catholic tradition of the Archangel Michael stomping on Satan and thrust his sword down into that Serpent of Old (the devil). The concept comes from a misunderstanding of the War in Heaven (Revelation 12:7-12) where it read, " Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels . " (Revelation 12:7-12). The truth is Michael did not throw Satan out of heaven, he didn't have the authority. In the hierarchy of angels, the top position was the Cherub that Covereth (Captain of Cherubim), then the Cherubim with their five heads of a lion, ox, man, and eagle (Ezekiel 1:4-14), the Seraphim with their six wings (Isaiah 6:2), the Archangels (Jude 1:9), the Teraphim or worshipper...

Schism: When Churches Split

Today many brothers and sisters in Christ are dismayed at the factionalism, sectarianism, and schismatic nature of denominations. Friends of mine in high churches cry that the Protestants went afoul by their Reformation, creating schism. But the truth is schisms and sects are very old, in fact the Roman Catholic Church schism with the Eastern Orthodox Church in 1054 A.D. The truth however, is that splintering into sects is nothing new and is found in Scripture. The denominational splits actually occurred early as recorded in the Scriptures. There was Jewish Christians who believed you had to keep the Law (Acts 15:2) but were refuted by the Council of Jerusalem (Acts 15:4-21). Then there was Circumcision Christians who believed only the law of circumsion should be added to the Gospel, which Paul refutes in his letters to Galatians (specifically Galatians 5:1-9) and the rest of His epistles. Then there were Christians getting into mystical practices of seeing angels and strange vision...

Pray for Muslim Immigrants

I was recently reading people advocate responding to Muslim expansion and immigration in Europe be met with genocide. This alarmed me because not only is it not Christian, but it is creating a crisis in Germany. Germany's open borders to refugees is actually creating the Fourth Reich. Over 275 cases are pending and investigations are ongoing on those in German military being found with Nazi paraphernalia and memorabilia. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/a-problem-in-germany-pro-nazis-in-the-military/ar-BBAZmif?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp We must be careful, the reaction in Germany's military to the Islamic immigration is to drum up the old xenophobic and Arian heritage that created The Third Reich and World War II. We should pray the Muslims immigrating to Europe get saved, over 1 Million Muslims in Iran got saved last year. We must not fight with carnal weapons, but with spiritual weapons (2 Corinthians 10:4). We must love our enemy enough (Matthew 5:44) to pray ...
