Discernment On Religious Items

It is obvious to most believers that placing a Buddha or religious idol in their homes is foolish. Our allegiance and devotion is to the One True God, Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. We are to "have no idols before him," (Exodus 20:3) and to "Love The Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and serve him only." (Mark 12:30, Matthew 22:37). It goes without saying that as Christians we should not harbor the symbols of HaSatan (the devil). Pentagrams and Power amulets have no place in a disciple of the Prince of Peace. Most of us know to keep our homes clean of evil and destroy all objects of witchcraft like those in the Book of Acts, "And not a few of them that practised magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all; and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver." (Acts 19:19).

However, there are some amulets and evil objects that enter our abodes like the Trojan Horse. We willfully usher in these items because they depict Immanuel and the Apostles. Religious articles and collectables are the most difficult to discern. While some are innocent and merely beautiful portraits, icons, crosses, crucifixes, and more; there are items that are insidious, even invidious in nature. I have personally encountered merchandise that appears to honor the True Messiah, but they manifest the Malevolent One.

I will give some personal examples to help clarify. There is a Catholic Mission close by to my city. In this mission, there is gift shop. There on occasion I have purchased crucifixes, crosses, and icons. On one occasion I purchased an icon, or image of Jesus that was made out of the Mission's wood. It is benign, and radiates no religious spirit, it is light and helps point to the Light of the World. However, on a separate occasion, while shopping at the same place I found a golden cross with an icon in the middle. I wanted to purchase something desperately, but when I held the cross I felt a heaviness, was not content with its design and upon buying it I felt this powerful discontent. When I took this crossicon home, I hung it on the wall. For six nights I experienced nightmares and even supernatural activity in the wall upon which it hung! I have since dispensed with this crosscon and have experienced rest.

How is this possible? At the same store I bought two separate icon type items and had completely opposite experiences. One icon has caused no restlessness or religious spirit activity, while the other caused insomnia. How do we explain this? Well first I need to share one more story, to establish a precedent. I often collect crosses and crucifixes because I like to wear them. At another Mission and store, I bought a crucifix pendant and wore it. Nothing strange occurred, it simply depicted Christ's Passion and Death, reminding me of Jesus' loving sacrifice. On another occasion I purchased a Benedictine Crucifix. While looking at the crucifix, I noticed medallion on it and some card with the Pope's blessing. I wanted the crucifix, but I knew beforehand you have to be careful with authentic Catholic items (because of Marionology, Saint worship, and other false practices that are not Scriptural). I ignored the warning and purchased the Benedictine Cross. I later found out the medallion is a amulet to ward off demonic spirits and that it was plenary indulgence given by Pope Francis I for sin! It was an indulgence! They very thing Martin Luther confronted with his 95 Theses on October 31st, 1517! And it was pagan because it was amulet of protection, when is against Christ and trusting in Him! For it is in Jesus Christ alone we must place out trust and seek protection, not precious stones, medals, and crosses! Jesus defeated the power of the devil, not a necklace!

I share the second story because I want to establish that you must be careful when purchasing religious items. There are benign crosses, crucifixes, and icons that simply are for beauty and to inspire, they have no strange supernatural qualities, they have no religious spirits, nor are they sacrilegious. However, there are items that have been blessed by idolaters, prayed over by religious and even antichrist men, and even cursed items to lead you astray from pure relationship with Jesus Christ. This is why you must exercise discernment. Investigate the item you want to buy, check the manufacturer out and pray, ask the Lord if it is safe. I have had the Almighty tell me an item is safe and acceptable to buy. Christ will help you, along with the Gift of Discerning Spirits from the Holy Spirit, and your own inquiries via the web and research. I warn you because a item like the golden cross icon kept me sleep deprived for six nights! The Benedictine Crucifix made my chest go numb and contradicts my beliefs that align with Martin Luther's theses and the Reformation! So beware and as the Apostle Paul says, "test all things and hold to what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These w

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come and died for our sins an

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few people are endeavo
