Be Light

During the darkest time of year it is important to remember that The Light of the World is with us. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12). The darkness is spreading. Our world is shrouded in shadow. The reminder of the present darkness is evident in the Satanic holiday (celebration, there is nothing holy about it) known as Halloween. I always dread this time of year because the movie theaters, television, and stores are filled with ghouls, goblins, witches, and skulls. While people 'innocently' embrace "trick or treating" and decking their houses with ghosts and gargoyles, actual Occultists are kidnaping innocent girls and animals to sacrifice on October 31st in honor of the Fall solstice and the Fallen One whose name is Satan!

Corresponding during All Hollow's Eve, is the Day of the Dead which finds its influence greatest in Mexico and Latin America. While the shadows and sorcery permeate this week, we need to be reminded that we are "children of light." The Scriptures say, "You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness." (Thessalonians 5:5). Another passage in the Bible says, "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light." (Ephesians 5:8). We are children of light and that Light is Christ (John 8:12). Why then do people tempt the darkness? Why do believers during this time of year pretend to be as they once were, full of darkness (Eph 5:8)? The answer lies in another Scripture, "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil."  (John 3:19). There is the answer. People love the darkness and deeds of evil, so even though they profess to be Christians there is a love for the shadows in them.

At this time of year, people need the Light more than ever! They need their eyes to be opened!; "to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me (Jesus)." (Acts 26:18). Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming and the time is short. As the Apostle says,  "The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light." (Romans 13:12). Those who practice evil deeds and love the darkness must pay heed! The Church is suppose to be a city on a hill, "You are the light of the world--like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:14). We cannot hide the light and play with darkness! Halloween is not for the likes of you or me! We are to be reformed and so October 31st to the Christian is Reformation Day, when we remember how we have come out of the darkness of the devil and shadow of scriptural ignorance.

This season is right before the greatest season. Before the celebration of Jesus The Light coming into the world which is called Christmas, Satan has the dark holiday Halloween. For our enemy wants worship and he has many who venerate his image, and dark imaginings this time of year. As believers we must be vigilant and "hold fast to that which is good; abstain from all appearance of evil (every form of evil)." (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). Appearance is exactly what Halloween is about! People claim that its innocent fun and only the appearance of evil, but Scripture clearly says we are not to even appear or masquerade as evildoers! Pretending is harmful! Why is it so many endeavor to fill their lives with God's Light all year but come October 31st they want to act, look like, and pretend to be darkness?!

We as Christians are to be set apart. We are "a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:9). We are set apart and must appear to be what we are, "children of light" and "chosen." Enough with shadows! Show people the glorious light of Christ Jesus! Cease confusing people by partaking in evil! Our Lord and God Jesus came into this world to be a light. He said, "I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness." (John 12: 46). We who believe (John 3:16) should not stay in the darkness! We are now to bask in the Light of our Lord Jesus Christ! Decide today to come into harmony with the Holy One and have no more to do with HaSatan! Be light and let go of all appearance of darkness.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
