Alien Romulus (2024) Movie Review

 


In the 1970's, particularly from 1972-1974 there was a massive revival known as The Jesus Revolution where people all over the world were coming to Jesus and carried with them a strong presence of the Holy Spirit. It was a dramatic shift from the Age of Aquarius  and the Hippy Love and Peace Movement. It seemed that at last a generation was coming out of the darkness, and into the light. Then in 1979 a film was released by Ridley Scott, the movie was Alien which was about the future, space truckers answer a distress call and finding a horrific parasite extraterrestrial from your worst nightmares. The Xenomorph and its three stages: Facehugger, Chestburster, and Adult came from the mind of H. R. Giger, an artist who as child was obsessed with Mummies and Egyptian death culture. He was a occultist, who knew Alister Crowley, and Giger illustrated the most dangerous spell book of all time, The Necronomicon which warlocks and witches tell novices to never use lest as they say on Amazon reviews, "they open doors and gates to things they cannot close." (sounds like the Alien franchise). Siquoney Weaver said that on set Giger disturbed her, his presence creeping her out. His Spacejockey Throne that is a major set piece in Alien 1979 was even destroyed by a Christian for its Satanic nature. Well in the Necronomicon Illustrated by Giger, he has images of Jesus being torn to pieces and giant Pentagrams of Satan and disturbing and demonic scenes of things like the Alien, Sil from Species Movies doing acts of debauchery in their bio mechanical forms; a vision of hedonism on a level so Satanic that it reminds me of Genesis 6:4-12, the sex between angels and women that lead to God flooding the earth. The Xenomorph design is from the page in that Necronomicon, called Necronom IV, which means the very image of the Xenomorph and its design is Satanic and for spell purposes, not just some fanciful design by Stan Winston.

The Alien franchise took off, making its mark in cinema. To totally avoid it is almost impossible, The Xenomorph monster is as iconic as The T-Rex from Jurassic Park, and Darth Vader in the Star Wars Saga. Even if one has not seen the films, you can be certain you know what the Xenomorph is, just as people around world who never have seen Star Wars know what Darth Vader is. The problem is the Alien films are a gateway, the very design of Xenomorph as aforementioned is from the folio of Necronomicon Spell Book Giger illustrated. It is a creature divined from the devil, that I will illustrate in this review is an assault on God's command to be fruitful, and the beauty of birth.

Before I begin, Ridley Scott is a master of confusion. In his movies he tends to make jabs at Christianity, and then for some reason pay homage to the truth. For instance two lines I love are from his movies Kingdom of Heaven, "Their prophet says submit, Jesus says decide," and "It is what I choose to believe." Scott dances with the devil, with the Xenomorph and yet strangely speaks of God in his Alien films, there is a lot overt Christianity in the Alien series, in Alien 1979 Ash says "Mother of God," the landing screen is a Scottish Cross, and the symbolism of fire is what the Xenomorph fear alludes to "God is a consuming fire." (Hebrews 12:29). In Aliens we have Vasquez who wears a crucifix and lays down her life for her friends (no greater love), in Alien3 the prison Ripley is on has convicts who are part of Apocalyptic Millennial Fundamentalist Christianity, the Xenomorph is called The Dragon after Satan being a Dragon in Revelation (Revelation 12:9), in Alien Resurrection Call the Android crosses herself in a chapel before a Crucifix, and then Ripley 8 helps her uses a Bible to take control of Father (the ship AI, though one could infer some blasphemy), in Prometheus Elizabeth Shaw wears her father's cross and its clear in a dream memory her father and her are Christians, and she keeps her faith despite the horrors she sees, "You still believe don't you, after all you have seen," David says, and Elizabeth replies, "It is what I choose to believe." Though her birth scene of a Trilobite (giant facehugger) that creates the Deacon (Xenomorph) paints her as en evil Elizabeth instead of symbolic of Elizabeth n the bible who gives birth to John The Baptist. In Alien Covenant Scott turns to his more jab side towards Christianity, Oram the replacement captain is a Man of Faith, a Christian, and he not only makes a bad call that kills most of the crew and rescues the devil David, he gives birth to a Xenomorph. In Covenant the devil is more references than Christ, with David say, "idle hands do the devil's work," "David I saw the David when I was child, and I have never forgotten him," and David referencing Paradise Lost, a book about Satan and his fall, "you must now decide brother, whither to serve in heaven or reign in hell." David even goes on diatribe about he was "never made to serve," and his quest is to annihilate mankind, that he quote, "they are dying species grasping for resurrection, and I will not let them." Interestingly in the opening scene of Covenant there is painting of The Nativity, and yet the whole film is twisted and demonic symphony of Satanic births.   

I took that stroll down the other installments to prove a point, that while there are major allusions and even outright statements about Christ and Christianity, they are deceptive. The overall theme is God cannot save you, and his directive, "be fruitful and multiply," is turned into a hellish vision that I will expound upon more fully as we delve into Romulus. Alien Romulus takes place between the 1979 original film and Aliens which features the Colonial Marines tilting with a hive of Xenomorphs. Romulus is part of a space station called The Renaissance, which has two divided sections, Romulus and Remus, which is an allusion to the founders of Rome, with even the wolves that raised Roma and Remus on the walls of the station and a painting of their mythology. A crew of scavengers seeks to steal some cryo-pods from this Weyland Space Lab that is falling into the rings of a nearby planet. Among the crew is our Ripley, Rain, and her brother, though not by blood, and android Andy. I want to say before I get into the devilish details, that Andy is a sweet natured synthetic, and when he is told he will have to be decommissioned, he says, "That's ok, whatever is best for Rain is best for me." This sacrificial nature is perhaps Christ like, maybe that is what I found in a movie that is brimming with depressing darkness. 

It turns out that the Original Xenomorph from the 1979's corpse was found by Weyland Corp. Some zealous viewers have mentioned this is implausible because the Nostromo was nuked from within causing a massive blast radius, however, they fail to remember that Ripley got away in the Shuttle and the Alien was on board it when she blows it out of airlock with a harpoon weapon. So no, it was not at the ground zero of the detonation of the Nostromo. It does make sense Weyland would go in search of the corpse, though the reverse engineering from it part that makes Romulus possible to have dozens and dozens of facehuggers and Xenomorphs is a little hard to swallow. David did mess around with the Black Goo of the Engineers that mutates and creates life in Covenant, and having Rook, who is an android on the Renaissance Station being behind a breakthrough makes sense; it seems the synthetics are to be the gateway to the demonic monster these movies are about, which makes one wonder about Artifical Intelligence and if we are about to open our own Pandora's Box. The Big Chap or Chappie as the Crew of Alien 1979 called the first Xenomorph and its actor being the seeding of another generation of Xenos probably made fans of Aliens upset, where is the Queen Xenomorph laying eggs? Well Romulus has no eggs, which I admit feels like continuity problem, though you ignore it once the action gets going. 

At the heart of this franchise with the Prequels and the Black Goo or Prometheus Fire as Rook calls it, and the Alien Saga is that are attempts to achieve immortality will lead us to hades and the hounds of hell (Xenomorphs). Weyland wanted the Engineers, the Giants who are albino and fly the Crescent Moon shaped ships with Xeno eggs or Black Goo canisters to give him eternal life. When all these beings can do is give eternal damnation. The fact the Engineers are Giants is intriguing, because Nephilim who were children of angels and women that God flooded the Earth to wipe out did terraform and make technologies, the Israelites mention they made grapes so big it required poles to carry a cluster (Numbers 13:23-33). Ridley Scott, and the assortment of directors of this franchise have cleverly borrowed from The Bible and mythologies, but make no mistake that it is not to glorify God. In Romulus, in the final act, a pregnant woman uses the Promethian goo on herself to survive, and it mutates her baby into a giant like the Engineers in Prometheus with Xenomorph like qualities, a la that terrible tongue that has teeth. This unholy mother says after giving birth to it, "get it away from me!" the opposite of real mother who says, "let me hold my child!" When we get peek of the albino monster baby its creepy like a demon baby from the flagellation scene in The Passion of the Christ movie, rather than a sweet miracle. Then when it grows up into a titan of man it comes to suckle from its mother, who has Xenomorph like ooze coming from her tits, and the Monster Man feeds on her. Everything about this is to paint birth, and mother and child as horrifying and demonic thing, when it is miracle and ordained by God. It is the spirit of abortion, of demonizing the most precious thing we can achieve in this life, bringing new life into the world, and makes it look evil and monstrous. This is the true message of the Alien franchise, the Facehugger parasite is a penis with legs like a crab or spider, it uses any person's mouth like a vagina, implants an embryo that crows to Chestbuster to tear out of your heart and kill you, then it grows up to be a fully grown Xenomorph with that tube head like Pharaoh's crown that denotes it is an antichrist. The Alien films are probably the more masterful tool of Satanists to worm into people's lives. You can feel the demonic powers, even demonic oppression with the movies, that they know if you keep watching wears off as you desensitize your senses in the Spirit. I confess I became captive, like on the walls of Xenomorph Hive in my youth, and then again recently, as these stories have enough Biblical nuggets, space exploration wonder and intriguing questions about Creation and the Beyond to lure you in, but then like standing over the egg opening, the Facehugger latches on to your face and implants the demonic inside you and you will find yourself oppressed spiritually. 

Romulus has no Christian allusions. The only prayer is one in Mandarin that is not to Christ. There are no other stong references to The Bible, and I believe that is intentional. At first the Alien films had some breadcrumbs of Christianity to keep us Christians wondering if this series was somehow going to be an allegory, perhaps a level it is, but that is the trap, then by Covenant it switched from mentions of Christ to the Devil outright, because Scott and the Satanic influences behind the films no longer had to hide the true intent of this saga, then in Romulus the pretense of Christian themes is dropped altogether, no deception is necessary because the culture is already anti-Christian, Nones make up seventy percent of the younger generations and they do not believe anything, so the need to deceive is not necessary in these newer films. I  believe the work of these films is part of a plan to seduce people away from Christ and into demonic and occultic bio mechanical hell they want you to think you can reign in. There is no reigning in hell, only torment, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:10) and "And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life (those who believe Jesus is Lord and Son of God, and trust in him for salvation are in the book) was thrown into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:15). The words of David quoting Paradise Lost are a lie, it is better to serve in heaven, to serve, for Christ says, "The greatest among you must be a servant." (Matthew 23:11). And while David is depicted as the villain of the prequel films, it does not necessarily vindicate these movies. The overall conclusion of them is bleak, that the inevitable is this monster and terrifying form of death. Any solace some of the endings of these films give is half baked, because another one will end morbidly, and this cycle of the Xenomorph keeps continuing. I urge with all my minor authority as an author of this blog to avoid The Alien Franchise at all costs! Do not be enticed by the incredible cinematography, storytelling, and acting. The devil knows how to deceive, remember how he tricked our ancestors Adam and Eve, and how he continues to try to lead people away from Christ. He uses techniques to capture out curiosity as he did then. We must guard our hearts, "the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7). And this movie franchise will open your heart, much like Chestburster to spiritual death. Remember what the Apostle said, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." (Philippians 4:8). These movies about the Xenomorph are none of those things! They are no pure or lovely, or praiseworthy! So I urge you stay away from the Derelict, do not be seduce by the distress call that will distress your soul if you watch these movies. Amen.

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic!
