John the Baptist and Jesus Christ

God became a Man. The Creator of the vast universe, galaxies, and planets; the One who knows the stars by name (Psalm 147:4), who knows every sparrow that falls (Matthew 10:29), knows every hair on our heads over course of lifetime (Luke 12:7), and catches every tear every person has cried in a bottle (Pslam 56:8), and then He became flesh, " The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth ." (John 1:14). What is even more stunning is that the Savior, the Creator Jesus Christ (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16, Genesis 1:26-27) came humbly unto us. In stark contrast, John the Baptist's birth being fortold to his father Zacharaih was in the pinnacle of religious pride, the most honorable and highest place in Judaism, the Temple, "In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah. And he had a wife from the d...

Keeping Your Eyes Fixed on Jesus

We are living a very dark world. Droves of people are falling into demonic deceptions and abandoning their discipleship. The great falling away from the faith is here, " Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations on account of My name. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come ." (Matthew 24:9-14). Many are content to walk in shadows and still call on the Savior. From media to meetings, there is a shadow reaching across the earth. A surge of mysticism, New Age, black magic, Kabala, Egyptian witchcraft, and Eastern religions are sweeping the nations, and deceiving...

Two Roads: Two Tables

Right now there is an increasing temptation for people to mix their Christian faith with paganisms, weither it be Yoga, New Age, or other false religions. The concept of pantheism and polytheism is growing; even in an indirect way. There are many today who act as if on Sunday they can worship the Lord Jesus, and then on Wednesday worship Hindu gods via Yoga, or dabble in New Age Christianity, and other cross-religion practices. They think their liberty allows them to play around with demons and not be hurt. But here is what words of Christ and His Apostles say about this: " Go in through the narrow door. The door is wide and the road is easy that leads to hell. Many people are going through that door.  But the door is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life that lasts forever. Few people are finding it . " (Matthew 6:13-15)  " Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only ." (Matthe...

Simplicity: The Cistericans and The Pietists UPDATED

In 1098 A.D., a monastic order was formed called the Cistercians. These monks sought to simplify and turn from major indulgences (of the flesh). They sought to become fiercely independent, and self sufficient, emphasizing agriculture and manual labor. The most famous Cistercian Monk was undoublty Bernard of Clairvaux, or the Crusader Preacher as he is known. When Cistercian Monks numbers seemed to be waning, Bernard arrived at door with many members of his household. Benard in many ways as a Martin Luther of His time, reforming the image of Christ enthroned and Imperitus Rexus, to Corpus Christi, Christ Crucified (The Crucifix). In addition, Bernard preached The Second Crusade, which became a colossal failure; and to console European hearts and minds, Bernard claimed the enterprise of the Second Crusade failed do to sin; and in many ways He was right, the inability of Conrad III (German Emperor), King Frankish of France, and the other Crusaders to set out and unite into one mighty ...

Afflicted With Us

There is one common bond that all humans on this earth share: pain. No matter who you are, weither you are young and old, male or female, rich or poor, slave or free, you have experienced at one point or another pain. Physical affliction or emotional affliction, we all have been subjected to the groaning of our feeble flesh. For some it is simply colliding with concrete in an accident, others cancer, and still others wounds from war. Physical pain is part of life. Every one of us is familiar with the pangs that are not normal, weither it be tendons, sinews, muscle spasms, fractures, disease, and beyond. From our first cry in this life, to our last; pain is part of every season of our lives weither minor or major. Affliction is common to us, and it was common to our Lord Jesus Christ. He was subjected to beatings of diverse kinds, " Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him. And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him,saying, “Prophesy! Who is ...
