Nothing Sacred

Hollywood has always ben unholy. The constant assault on Christian values can be found in Dan Brown's adaptations, and constant barrage of antichrist films and shows. The last list of sacrilegious stories are "Impastor" (2015-2016) which is series about pastor who has visits from pretty women congregants to have sex with him in his apartment, "Still the King" with Billy Ray Cyrus being a charlatan minister having sex with young girls, and antichrist author Dan Brown's latest adaptation "Inferno" (2016) where Tom Hanks seeks to stop a insane man who wants to make Revelation Chapters 8 and 9 come true. Not to mention the sympathetic series to Satan called "Lucifer," (Jan 25, 2016) the antichurch "Spotlight," (2015) as well as the plethora of other subversive shows and films. The attack is always slanted towards the Alpha and Omega, but He told us this would be so "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first," (John 15:18), "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you," (John 15:19), and "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved." (Matthew 10;22).

If one searches further back you will find antichrist symbolism, Keanu Reeve's in "A Walk in the Clouds" (1995) which is romantic comedy about wine making has a scene of a giant Crucifix burning, even though the entire church is already destroyed, the inference is a US Soldier is using flame throwing on it. The deeper one digs, the more you find antichrist symbolism in Hollywood films. Gone are the inspiring days of Quo Vadis (1951), Ben Hur (1959), The Robe (1953), The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), and The Ten Commandments (1956). Certainly Roma Downey and Mark Burnett have tried with Son of God (2014), The Bible Series (2013), A.D. The Bible Continues (2015), Ben Hur (2016), and more. But the deficit is in the devil's favor, with more sacrilegious films being made than saintly one (save for Pureflix, but they can't make them on same Hollywood scale and budget). Again I must emphasize the words of the Apostle Paul, "For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred (lawlessness, rebellion to God, my italics)." (2 Timothy 3:2). Jesus Christ gives us another picture into the behavior fueling the sacrilege of today, "And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold." (Matthew 24:12). This Lawlessness is important, it appear with Pharisees, "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness." (Matthew 23: 14-15, 27-28). Jesus Christ expoes that the religious leaders are bound by the lawlessness which is rebellion against God because the Pharisees learned Talmud and made Law of Moses a god, rather than learning Scriptures and seeking God (Matthew 22). This Lawlessness takes more significant because it is name Antichrst himself, "Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers,^{[a] 2} not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. ³ Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion (against God, which is lawlessness) comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, ⁴ who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. ⁵ Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? ⁶ And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. ⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. ⁸ And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. ⁹ The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, ¹⁰ and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. ¹¹ Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, ¹² in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thessalonians 2:1-10).

The Lawlessness is indeed at work already (2 Thessalonians 2:7) and the people Paul describes in last days as lovers of self and considering nothing sacred (2 Timothy 3:2) is here. In addition, Jesus Christ tells us this going to happen, the Lawlessness (rebellion to God) will destroy love (Matthew) because God is love (1 John 4:8) and love is greatest commandment, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength, this is chief and greatest commandment, the second it like it, love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:36-40). This means then the media and Hollywood is increasing the Lawlessness (rebellion towards God) by slipping antichrist subliminal messages in films and making antichrist movies. Hollywood is actually fulfilling Scripture by helping increase the Lawlessness (Rebellion towards God, not loving Him) which creates the death of love (Matthew 23:27). So we see this is all End Times happenings, and we should be encouraged that it means Emmanuel is coming soon! But it is going to be rough going until then, so preserve, "Lawlessness will increase, the love of many will grow cold, but those who preserve to the end shall be saved." (Matthew 24:12).
